唔該將我個名在名單上移除,我唔係後備,亦都唔需要攘位,只不過我係決定唔去台灣比賽啦。你地比心機參賽備戰,做出好成績,為香港增光啦!

Stanley,

Don't be disappointed. It is not a personal matter, it is a matter of a team!

Without 'S', team SMP would become 'MP', that means "missing person".

Not until the last minute, don't give up.

:!: :!:

Ah Pong,

I am not disappointed!

As I have said in Fei Ngo Shan's race few weeks ago, I would rather prefer not to go if things are not cleared up, so I just keep my promise.

I am afraid this time SMP team really would have a missing member. Anyway, I still hope you and Ah Mak would perform magnificantly and achieve execellent result in Taiwan.

Cheers!

Things might be cleared up.

When I was young, I heard a wisdom said:

When there is a will, there is a way!

Let's wait and see.

PS. Please keep your promise if things cleared up !

Want a few clarifications before proceed:

a. Is the HK$2000 represent "deposit" rather than use to actually issue ticket now ? From now to Nov still 3 months and I don't think we need to issue tickets so early :!:

b. In the event due to uncontrol factor like family issues or critical business issues, if already paid the HK$2000, will it be refund if redraw :?:

c. In case some pilot may have business opportunities to Taiwan on Nov which do not require such full travel iternary from Hong Kong to flying site and cost less than HK$2000 - how to handle those situtations :?:

d. For those who don't have Bank of China account and don't want queue up in Bank of China to pay the HK$2000, any alternative means say tranfer to Hong Kong Bank or Hang Seng bank :?:

Sorry if asking too much questions :?

p.s. Stanley you have lots of great racing experience & track records :o Let's try whatever we can so that you can participate this great event with us together :!: Otherwise you have to wait for another 3 years :!: Don't give up :!: It's important that you are part of Hong Kong team, not just SMP :!:

Dear all,

8) 8)

Seems that we have a lot of ambiguities. I think most of us wish to have someone to clear stuff up. However, most of us afraid the accusation of ‘conflict of interest’, remain in silence.

OK, I find myself to be the most suitable person to say few words. As I was invited to join the race, which is counted away from the limitation of 10 entries from HK. Ah Mak from team SMP also be invited. Because we achieved good result in HK Open 2007 (the champion and the best speed).

A month or so ago, several pilots chatted with me worrying the entry limit. We think, if we do nothing and wait until the deadline set by the organizer (Oct 2008), it would be too late for arrangement. The discussion ended up to a draw for determining the priority. The priority in no circumstance means the order of importance of any of us. We opined that some pilots showed their interest in joining the race, would somehow withdraw. Therefore we set a deadline for placing deposit, so that the pilot on the reserve could join the race. This was purely a tactics.

The organizer recently extended their invitation list, in which all the ‘Champion’ and ‘the best speed’ in previous F3F Open in the region, could enter the TW race automatically. This includes HK Open 2005, 2007, TW Open 2006, Korean Open 2007. Thus, the following pilots could join the race automatically:

Stanley, Pong, Mak, CM, Angus and Lee from Korean. (why six pilots only, coz Stanley and Pong won twice)

Things already cleared up. As Angus said earlier, all pilots showed interest could go, and shall pay the deposit to Donny by 2008-08-15. (but I think it is not necessary now).

However, the side issue is that Stanley does not want to go now !!!
He reiterated that he was not disappointed. But we are disappointed now.
As I said, it is not a personal matter, but a matter of team SMP.
Ah Wing echoed that it is not a matter of SMP, but the matter of HK’s team.
Few fellows asked me to call Stanley to persuade him in changing his mind, I intended to openly discuss here.

Apart from a real familial problem, could you (Stanley) give us a valid reason?
Before answering us, ask yourself a few questions first:
What was the reasonale that you founded HKRCSS with others ?
What was the reasonale that you proposed the first F3F in the region in 2005?
Why you join the previous F3F open matches (such as Viking, TW etc) ?
Do you treat pilots in Korean and TW are friends of you?
Do you think they would not be disappointed?
Do you treat me and Mak are your teammate?
Do you really wanted to see team ‘missing person’?
Do you think other soarers in HK (not the usual F3F players) would agree your decision?
Have you considered what Mrs. Chan thinks at the bottom of her heart ?
What would your daughters think if you are not going ?
Who would pay for the dinner at the end of the race like last time ?
Would it be any difference if your teammate says ‘you go I go and you not go, I not go’ ?

I have already put you on the table. As a senior official in a reputable organization, you should well understand that we sometime have to do something even though we do not want to do due to the situation.
The last word that I can tell you is : You have to go !! It is an order !! :!:

I have already declined to accept the invitation from the organizer. I hope this would not offend anybody. I have responded an email to C.M. to explain the reason behind and I hope he will understand my words and passed them to you. It is really inappropriate to say more here, that will further create confusion and do more damages to everybody including me. Please accept my apology, I hope the issue will be forgotten and I would certainly like to join future Typhoon Races in the years to come.

Ah Pong
I can answer some of your questions however:
Quote:
What was the reasonale that you founded HKRCSS with others?

That was written in the by-law of HKRCSS and I have some personal ones and you probably sensed that in these years I served the club. Anyway, I can’t see the reason why you related this to my decision not to participate in the contest in Taiwan.

Quote:
What was the reasonale that you proposed the first F3F in the region in 2005?

My reasonale is to promote the sport of F3F in this region and I am happy to see that Typhoon Race will be held in the region annually. I would certainly like to join the race and give my support.

Quote:
Why you join the previous F3F open matches (such as Viking, TW etc) ?

Very simple, I like to race. I would certainly like to race them all if circumstance allows

Quote:
Do you treat pilots in Korean and TW are friends of you?

Of course, yes. I would try my best to meet them in future races and hope they will forgive me that I can not join them this time.

Quote:
Do you think they would not be disappointed?

Yes, again sorry for that

Quote:
Do you treat me and Mak are your teammate?

Yes, of course, we are still teammates

Quote:
Do you really wanted to see team ‘missing person’?

No, I am sorry

Quote:
Do you think other soarers in HK (not the usual F3F players) would agree your decision?

I hope they will if they understand my reason

Quote:
Have you considered what Mrs. Chan thinks at the bottom of her heart ?

I will ask her

Quote:
What would your daughters think if you are not going ?

Ng…, probably, they will say“that's good news”

Quote:
Who would pay for the dinner at the end of the race like last time ?

The winner, of course, I would say add oil to HK team!

Quote:
Would it be any difference if your teammate says ‘you go I go and you not go, I not go’ ?

This is not a valid reason, but I will try my best to make the trip with you guys

So I will talk with my wife to see whether she is interested to have a tour holiday with me to Penghu island and if she is ok, I will drop in to pay a visit to you guys as a support to the HK team and the organizer, but I will not participate in the contest.

Cheers!

In your email to Mr. Lee Ming Tao you said it is not fair to the participants from Taiwan and the other countries.

Now you put Angus, Mr. Lee of Korea, the Taiwan organizers and me on an unfair position. We can join Typhoon race because of the Taiwan organizers' unfair arrangement.

You are so stubborn. I have nothing to say any more. I need to complete the safety rules and send it to Ken tonight.

C.M.,

I said "I hope this would not offend anybody"
Sorry, if I am stubborn, may be I am getting old! but I think it is certainly a matter of principle. If you do not appreciate this principle, I am sorry.

I will explain this to Lee Ming Tao via Ah Sang tomorrow. If their organizing committee formally approved the allocation and invitation, then you, Angus and Mr. Lee of Korea will have an official status.
I don't understand why you think otherwise and blame me!
