RC Slope Soaring in Hong Kong

Hi, I just bought a Zoom recently. I was just wondering what servos to put in this plane.

Aileron - Hitec HS-125MG
Elevator and Rudder - HS-225MG
Flap - HS-85MG

Is this setup ok?? Anyone know if the HS-85MG will fit into the flap servo bay? Thank you for your help

Welcome to F3F group.

As far as I know, none of the F3F usual player have this plane. We do not know how thick of the wings for installing the flap servo. You better measure the thickness before buying the servos.

Secondly, I would suggest you to use digital servos instead of analogue.

Thirdly, the gear in 125MG (or 5125MG) is not tough enough, and would break easily even in soft landing. Better use other choice if the space allows.

I had used 225MG before. I felt that they were slow.

Since the model is in cross-tail design, 85MG seems to be too weak in torque for a large elevator.

If thickness of wing panel > 15mm, you may consider Sanwa/Airtronic 94761Z or JR DS362/368 for aileron and flap servos because they are much better servo in terms of accuracy and reliability.

For x-tail elevator, a strong servo is definitely required. I'd suggest Futaba 9550 or JR DS3401 which are extremely fast and powerful servos.

Either Sanwa/Airtronic 94761Z or JR DS362/368 can serve as rudder as it is not critical for F3F.

As a standard F3F ship is quite expensive, you won't want to crash it due to servo failure.

We recommend you sanwa 94761z ,This is good price and great preformance in your zoom .You can contact me if you need this servo .
