Most of us prefer MOS.

My preference:
E or E to NE : MOS
NE : Fishing peak
N : Hung Fa Leng ( in fact, the landing at the northerly site is not that difficult, and we need not to walk.)

CD (Ah Yeung) : We still have time, please see the lastest development before making decision.

Ah Pong Sir, are you sure you didn't use up all east wind today :?:

Suggest to CDs, given there are so many options and different opinion; would you want fix some time as check point to determine where to fly tomorrow :?: So that we can check this forum before moving out from home tomorrow :?:

BigYeung

Let's me clarify that
Lobster Bay (HK Open site) is only suitable for NE wind, not N wind.

High Junk Peak is capable of a bit more north, and is suitable for NEE to NE

Delta (P) still shows stronger East current than North. Thus, we may still have E wind tomorrow morning if we start the race earlier, said 9am.

Lung Ha Wan seems to be better NE and ENE slope for competition when comparing with High Junk Peak but HJP can fly at NNE as well.

HFL N slope is easier to fly and land when the wind is light to moderate. However, the slope has large turbulence at strong wind. As we tried one day before HK Open 2007, it was very risky to fly and land at wind speed 30km/h above.

Robin's Nest : Slope with Inland characteristics, now blowing at 10+ km/h, likely more thermic later today with more lotteries :o

High Junk Peak and Lobster : Both slopes with costal characteristics, used to be give more constant lift, now blowing at 25+ km/h :o

In any f3f race, it's never to possible to 100% ensure wind can be blowing exactly the direction we expect anyway

Prehaps it depends on the objectives and preferences how we want to fly f3f - comfort with lesser walking vs flying condition with better chances for speed, plus faster times

As all indicators are pointing North wind, the Contest will be held at 10.00Am at Hung Fa Ling (Roin Nest) . The site of Day 1 HK Open2008. Please go directly to the flying site.

In many f3f races, there were equipment error, human error, wind conditions etc causing re-fly. So there is no point to re-iterate this small incident  Also any re-fly will not only impact the pilot in concern but the rest of pilots as well - chain effect

On the other hand, given f3f in Hong Kong has been conducting with very high standard and diligently - it is important to avoid any unfair or baised results

Given someone has already timed the flight time along the flying video, please kindly update the scoring sheet, re-calculate the results and rankings  I will bring the prize back to the slope for re-granting to the pilot who truely qualified for that :o

Thanks :!:

p.s. As I expressed to some pilots, I've no interest at all for becoming top 3 on last Sunday. So 季軍都難保 no relevant to me at all :!:

Ah Wing,

Since the CD had already made his dicision on a re-flight for you, and the re-flight could have been faster or slower.
You have done a better job on the re-flight, so that's a fair result.

Please see the updated league table and the report at
http://www.hkrcss.org/F3FGroup/F3F_main.html

The league result is getting very interesting as there are two draw pairs.

Let's see whether we will have good wind on October 12.

Cheers!
