Beetle

Beetle! as its name implied being very small, this tiny sailplane is designed and built by Stanley Chan. The objectives to design Beetle are to test the aerobatics capability of sailplane with small wing span (26") and to test a new (very cheap) way of making sailplane. The design concluded on a flying wing platform with center fin and the whole plane is made of Coroplast only - the total material cost is less than 2 US dollars! The wing profile is HN1038 which is one of the most slippiest profiles ever designed. This little sloper is surprisingly stable in flight and most importantly it's FAST! Its aerobatics capability is astonishing due to its small size; invert flight, inside/outside loop and roll can be carried out with ease.
