The latest WindGURU forecast aligns with HKO. NNE on 2 Nov, NE on 3 Nov and ENE on 4 Nov. Thus, we can probably hold the race on HJP in the first 2 days and MOS in last day. Wind speed seems very promising.

Is anyone prepared "night planes" for the second day's function? I am making one and hopefully it can be completed in time.

( Ah Sang from Taiwan said he may also bring one too :) )

Hey Ah Mak & Angus, take a deep look  It's in fact a fat cat wearing a tiger skin :o

Their team (cats) has already well positioned themselves to win in 釣魚翁

I know not many pilots has night planes. I bought a lot of LED light keychains for the last Saturday event, but the wind cannot fit us so they are now keeping in my car.

Those pilots friends who plan to join the night flying event on Nov 3 can just bring their EPP planes there. We can fit the LED onto the planes very easy and fast. I tried this in my EPP Easy last Saturday, it worked very well. If the wind is strong, you can add more LEDs, if not, 5 to 6 LED still look very good.

Stanley, according to the HKRCSS website, pilot briefing will take place at the BBQ site car park in Ma On Shan at 8:30am, 8:00am and 8:00am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively.

I've signed up as a volunteer helper assisting Ken. What time should I be there?

Pilot breifing will be in the lobby in Regal Riverside Hotel in Shatin. The forcast wind direction is northerly so most likely we will not select Ma On Shan for flying. We are still deciding on a suitable site for northerly wind at the moment. Anyway, High Junk Peak will be used if the wind is from NE to NNE. Since some pilots are living in Kowloon or Hong Kong side, if they travel to Regal and then back out to High Junk Peak, it may be quite troublesome for them. However, although we have booked a 24-seat minibus for the foriegn pilots, we do expect that the space is still not sufficient as there will be 20+ foriegn pilots, so I really hope those local pilots living in Shatin, Tai Po areas to come to Regal for briefing and help in the transport after the briefing. I would expect the following persons be in Regal for briefing:
Stanley, Angus, Y.C., Ken, Mak, Fat Fai, Wing (may be if he is not going up to the mountain to check the site), anymore?

I suggest I wait outside the hotel with my car (capable of taking 3 contestants if one side of the rear seat is folded down to increase luggage space for the planes, otherwise it seats 4), and be ready to take 3 contestants to the site.

Ken said he would call me. I'm standing by.

Will Lobster Bay be also an option? Though the track length could be marginal, the wind speed forecasted should allow for strong lift. I wonder the N site at HFL could accommodate for 40+ persons with sufficient landing area.

Dear fellow F3F flyers and helpers,

The last three days are just wonderful experience for us, we managed to hold the event in two new flying locations; a very convenient northerly slope in Robin’s Nest and a new northeasterly slope in Lobster Bay with very physically demanding hike up! It is a nerve breaking experience for us as an organizer. The contest is now successfully completed and our visitors would bring the happy memory back home. I am highly impressed by the efficiency of our fellow pilots, workers, helpers and the wives. Without their tireless, devoted efforts, we would not have achieved this goal. Thank you all of you who made this contest a success! I know I owe you a lot on putting lot of pressure on you in the running the contest. Please forgive me for what I have done wrong. Shall we get together to have a drink sometimes to celebrate, in particular, that our HK team has done a professional contest to win the Champion, 1st runner-up and best time awards? I promise I will buy you the drinks. Cheers!

Stanley

Ah Ken
多謝 Stanley
多謝 Ah Pong

Mak

非常多謝大会及義工, 更要多謝亞蘇的物資及物流安排, 另外Willy每日做完Timer工作後還細心拾執及清理場地.
非常感激!
