We need to call up Mr. Lee of Shamchung village to check whether it is still possible to hold contest there. (I have called him but no response yet, it seems he is not in HK)
Lamma Island is a bit difficult to get to. I don't think we need to arrange with the locals as it is government land, but we need to pre-arrange transport to go there. Who has the contact for the boat operator?

If everything is in hurry and we do not have sufficient time to prepare for the contest, we can postpone it for one week and move the F3F contest to 19 August. Any suggestion?

The weather forecast for 19/8 is west to southwest force 3 to 4 with sunny periods and hazy but a few thundery showers. Kin Ma Ling seems to be only suitable location F3F. It is still 50/50 for running F3F due to the thundery showers.

Also the weather forecast for 18/8 is almost no wind :!: So unlikely can fly in Kin Ma Ling during 19/8 morning, plus if the wind is too westly, unlikely can fly there :idea: So unless better forecast come later, I believe the chance for running f3f will be less than 50% :!: or everyone will be flying with 3 digit timing :x

Although I am not flying DLG but just want to share if DLG pilots want try flying in Kai Tak end of runway - the place where we tested f3b winch back to April this year. Kai Tak flying site will be "bye-bye" very soon and even rain comes, it's very easy to rush back to cars :idea:

本星期日的DLG活动可能會受天氣影响, 我有以下提議:
1 若深圳場地積水, 改於南丫島或深涌比賽;
- 深涌去水較南丫島為佳因及有避雨地方, 而且船程較易安排及穩定;
2 將軍澳工業邨早場;
3 再延期.

但深涌個場仲有無得玩呢?

大家點睇?

阿楊,將軍澳工業邨是否可攪DLG比賽,點解只

Hendry stated the situation of Kai Tak and TKO.
For Kai Tak, the access is now easier than before, many EP & GP flying there on Sat & Sun, air traffic is busy, like dog flight. I don't think it'll be good to hold the DLG event at any end near the main runway. It may be better at the location of the closed golf club which is far from the runway.
For TKO, even on Sunday, before 3pm, the security guards may order people off from the real helicopter landing site. The sand field oppsite is full of guys being crazy with GP buggies on full throttle. Quite dangerous to DLG pilots. Also ditches of water may be at TKO and the site is quite bold, not many glass patches for landing.
Compared TKO and Kai Tak, Kai Tak should be better. Long grass may hinder the launching. It's likely for pilots to get back to the asphalt road for launching again. We may change the event to only allow 1 to 2 launches within a 10 min or more competition duration from the aslphalt area to reduce the landing and frequency to get into the flying site by group of pilots.
Any suggestions?

Time is running out!
We need to make the decision to or not to hold the DLG contest.

OK, let's try the Kai Tat site. Then how many of you guys will come and join the contest? I think to hold a meaningful full contest would require at least 10 contestants. If we have less than this number, we might just organize an informal gathering. Remember that I have already made the tropies long time ago, so I would prefer to hold a formal contest if possible. Please indicate your will!

So far we have

Johnson,
Allan,
C.M.
Stanley

any more?

The Sunday trip to Shenzhen is cancelled .
Message from Jiantao:
"We have to postponed our DLG contest again, the rainning day will continued to next week directly. So I think we'd better postponed the DLG contest directly to october.

It was not too hot in the afternoon too when we flew F3F and scale in KML. It was so surprise that the wind and thermal were quite good even the wind speed at Ta Kwu Ling was 8km/h only :twisted:

You were there!
I called up Mak at 3:45pm to see whether he was flying in KML and he said it was to hot and didn't want to go out! I didn't want to go to KML by myself so I decided to stay at home then! :cry: :cry: Oh! I should have called you! :cry: :cry: I am fed up with no flying for over a month - very sick now!!

I was there with Wing, Yeung and a large group of scale friends. With this convinience slope, I think the 7m ASW will have maiden flight soon.
