Our Korean friends sent me a message saying that they are going to hold the first Korean Open International F3F contest in April next year. Recently they have held a F3F competition and will be holding another 5 contests in this winter season before the Korean Open. Please see their recent F3F event here:
http://www.xeviousclub.com/viewtopic.php?t=46383
You might need to use the Korean to English translator on web.
http://babelfish.altavista.com/

They will send us an invitation later and by that time detailed information about the Korean Open will be available.

Are you interested in forming a HK team to participate? If this is during the Easter period I should be able to go.

Interested, but any other details? I can't read a single Korean word!!

From the photos, they can cook at the flying site! While we cannot make any fire in the country park. It must be a very good experience especially in the cold winter of Korea!

Here is the link on the Google Map location:

Scheduled venue will be A Golden Mountain and
alternative slope is Jangbok Mountain, A shape of two slopes are similar but face different direction so we able to fly for any wind direction.

Both slopes are 1hour car driving distance from Daegu City located southeast part of Korea.

According to Google Map the height of the slope is about 300m and this is obvious as seen from the pictures. Most likely the date of contest is from 20 to 22, April 2007 (Friday - Sunday).
I should be ok with these days so I shall most likely go. We can stay behind for a few more days for touring around the country if you wish. Cheers!

Ah Kin,
As you said, they have ginseng chicken soup and we have fish balls or pig shank with ginger in vingear. Both are tasty! A warning for U - Don't prepare chicken soup with ginger, it won't cure any cold & flu but will trigger nose bleeding. You'll get really hot before going for the race!

Lee from Korea sent me a message saying that they have successfully organized a formal FAI F3F contest last Sunday in the Golden Mountain.
The race was delayed due to snow in the morning but kicked off in the afternoon with 22 pilots. Three rounds were completed with the best time of 50.41s by Jang Ki Sung, the pilot who visited us in HK Open as well as in Taiwan Open. Lee was in the third place. The wind was 20mph. Wow! I guess the slope is well capable of doing sub 40s after some practising. (Ah Kin, you should go!)

They will have another four races before the Korean Open in April, and it seems that they will attract more participants in later races.

Lee told me that they built the timers accordingly to C.M.'s circuit and it was working faultlessly in the race last Sunday. C.M., you should be proud of it!

Look like they have a large squadrom of Wizard Compact and Acacia 3. See the photos and score sheet here:

Pong-pong,

If we can drive directly to the flying site, we can even bring a 50" plasma and a 7.1 system!!

I was told that Taiwan will send a large contingent to Korean Open (more than 10).
Where is the HK team? So far we have only a few pilots showing interest to go. Anymore?
