Hey ... shall we start the race in High Junk a bit earlier to allow more runs ?

Also do we want to add two more fun race around 16:30 ?!

1. Pack & Go at 16:30

Every pilot (except C M) to grap their belongings & Tx and rush down hill. Follow the F3F scoring scheme, say fastest one will get 1,000 points etc. Hehe I have long legs

2. Dive race at 17:00

C M to throw the F3F ships one by one from High Junk Peak for down hill spot landing. Guess the swimming Trinity will win !

Wish we can race this Sunday (Jan 8) or I cannot join next Sunday (Jan 15) due to business trip
:?

Dear fellows,

I share a different view. Since we had agreed that the race could be run on many days. If the wind is not good for holding a F3F race, we shall postpone it. No need to rush!!
High Junk peak is good for NE wind only. Furthermore, the gaps at base A and B make the turn slow. I suggest to hold the race at MOS later.

Sorry ah Kin!!

Ah Pong, I support your suggestion.
If wind is not good, we should postpone the race.
In VR, people simply don't fly, if wind speed and direction is not up to the specified level.
So, lets fly according to the rules.

The second qualiflying race for VR2006 was held today. The contest is really challenging with variable wind conditions and lots of interesting results.

Congradulation to Fat Fai for his win in this leg. Angus took the second and Ah Kin the third. Well done!

Here is the detailed score:
http://www.hkrcss.org/VRQ2006_MOS.xls

Report will follow soon.

Cheers

Dear Masters in F3F,

I refer to some of Y.C.'s photo taken on 15th January during the VR2006 qualifying race and wish to raise a question for general discussion.

2. The FAI Sporting Code 2006 Edition has some Amendments made to 2005 code which is effective on 1st January, 2006. It reads '....5.F.9 ....Fuselage nose as reference by turn....Official announces the passing of the model (i.e. the fuselage nose of the model) with a sound signal .....'.

3. Take the quoted photo for consideration, if fuselage nose is judged as reference by turn, what would you think that is going to affect the timing, if any?

Dear C.M.,

Taking part in F3F contest? Yes, I would like to.

But, a very big but, you might aware that I am extremely green in r/c soaring. You have seen how clumsy I am when handling my 'Bard', in the not so favourable wind condition.

The 'Bard' is an aircraft with Aileron when I up grade myself from the 'rudder & elevator' only 'Sky Walker'. That is why you saw me bring along the 'Bard' to the flying site with a view to gain some airtime.

Back to F3F, I am afraid I have to take many more flying lessons and many more hours of airtime before I can maneuvre a sailplane in the F3F track.

The F3F flying track is so close to the 'CD' and fellow soarers who are manning Base A and Base B. There are other human beings present at the vicinity. As you had mentioned: '....you will lose your legs or arms or some of your organs..... if you crash your r/c glider.... ' onto somebody!

Well, give me more time to practise the correct way to competently fly an r/c sailplane. By the way, if you don't mind, give me a shout every time you are going to fly, so that I might have a chance to get some flying lessons.

Hi Philip,

I am sure to tell you that at the time you manage to fly you Bard with confidence, you are already a master! F3F planes have much more stable flying characteristics than the Bard. Sorry to tell you, but I think the Bard is not a good plane to start with. If you have ever tried a 60" mouldy or a full sized F3X machine you can immediately tell the differences. The contest planes is just like flying on a rail.

Join the 60" F3F on Feb 5  No more excuse    :)

Yes ! It's ture !
A f3f glider (ailron,flap.rudder.elevator)is more easy than a normal 3ch glider!
Forget the cost, f3f just a toy(for you)!!

Dear C.M.,

Yes, I agree with you that 'contest planes is just like flying on a rail' ..........but, only in the hands of Masters!

So, you think the Bard is no good for beginner like me. Other than the contest planes, what other sailplane do you consider more suitable for me at this stage?
