I still will join the event.

Some suggestions I'd like to share with:
For ease on managing the run down and safety-
1) a fixed time slot of each Rn, where n=1 to...depends on race matrix, say 10 minutes or 15 min is recommended.
From time 0'00" to 2'50" - prep time and pilots be ready on starting grid.
2'51" to 3'00" - 10 sec count down & launching
3'00" - official race
3'00" afterward - the competition normally should be completed in 80 to 180 seconds, which is about to 6'00" interval. When all the planes complete, killed or crashed in this Rn, the race is completed.
Usually, by 6'00" to 10'00" the pilot can retrieve their landed plane for power disconnection and claering from the racing area.
2) Even the Rn is finished early before the 10-min is reached, no Rn+1 be started. It is easier for pilots to recognize the schedule at an interval of 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 for 10-min alloted to each Rn or 0, 15, 30, 45 for 15min alloted to each Rn.
3) With this arrangement, pilots should get enough time for post-flight checking, proper pre-flight procedures to avoid for accidents because of rushing in hurry.
4) There should not be excuse for pilots to miss a Rn as there will be a prep-time from 0'00" to 2'50" after his Rn is called for.
5) Should we submit the using freq to Stanley before Saturday to ensure no other pilots are using the same freq on the racing day to avoid on-site freq change?
6) Grouping is suggested to be by random draw.
7) With a 10min slot, 6 Rn can be run in an hr. Even with the matrix A for 20 pilots, the heat rounds should be complete 3.5 hrs and provide a concrete timetable to pilot to follow. Say battery charging, repairs and ready for starting grid without delay.

Hi YC, If you are referring me (Johnson), I am sorry that I am not available this Saturday. For the propeller, Radar is probably having a full range of APC in stock at the moment at good price, but be quick. If you can't get them, please contact me as I have some, various sizes, as spares.

It is a good idea to have a fixed time slot for each round of contest. I think we should post the pilot names, their groupings and race schedule after the draw and before the race, so that every body has a clear idea what is the time he needs to race.

By the way, some arrangement of the race course will be altered after we have a lengthy discussion in the last meeting. They are:

1. The passing lights (Red, Green, Blue) will be removed. The pilot has to judge on himself whether he has passed the pole or not. Even he has missed the pole (a cut), he is allowed to continue the run and NOT allowed to turn back to pass the pole again. Judges in both poles (3 judges in each pole) will mark down the number of cuts of the corresponding plane. One cut will result in disqualification after the race.

2. Instead of standing near Pole A, all pilots will stand near the middle part of the race track in order to have a better view on both turns.

Hi Stanley

Thanks for posting the latest rules, just quick clarification re "One cut will result in disqualification after the race" (1,000M for 2 poles 100M apart, flying anti-clockwise, so 5 laps)

A. Case I

Plane #1 make a cut but even able to take over Plane #2, #3 and finish 5 (completed) + 1 (with cut) laps ahead of Plane #2, #3, under this rule Plane #1 still get NO SCORE for this round (and NOT disqualified for the whole race)

B. Case II

Plane #1 make a cut and eventually Plane #2 & Plane #3 kiss together and drop. Plane #1 still able to finish 5 (completed) + 1 (with cut) laps. So in these case, Plane #1, #2, #3 all get NO SCORE for this around.

In other words, the requirement to participants will be (unlike F3F) at no circumstances, any single cut will be allowed, right ?!

Unless individual timimg is applied though 3 pilots are running in the same round, where penalty, said 10sec to be added for each cut to the scored time of the pilot for that round. Else disqualifying the pilot's score for that round when he has 1 cut, is a measure though it's a bit demanding. A 'Short-cut' will let the pilot become the leader during a 'Ding Dong' position.

Yes, even one cut will result in DNF score. The pilot will not be notified the cut during the race, the judge only marked it down and the score will be calculated after the race. So, all planes will run for 5 laps even if there is a cut, the pilot is not allowed to run an extra lap.

For the second case, all pilots get DNF scores.

There are some pilots mentioning that 5 laps is too short and they said it is better to have 8 or 10 laps so that there will be more fun. We had a lengthy discussion on this issue, but we hadn't come out of a concrete decision yet, because to have more laps in each round, we need more time to run the competition and the battery requirement is tougher.

So what do you guys think?

Stanley,

Due to poor weather and absent of some key racing pilots, the electric pylon race is postponed to until futher notice. Sorry for any inconvenient cause!

Hi,

Summer season is just horrible; either it is too much rain, too foggy, too hot or too wet!
Should we reschedule the pylon race to a later date until autumn? I will not be available for the next two or three weekends.

Cheers

Stanley
