I saw some new comer use Rudder to perform the direction control on a Easy Pro, the final result is the plane cannot change direction. If you have not fly a RC glider before, you better go to Clear water bay and ask for some help from the Masters there. The CG location will be at the thickness point of the wing, or you can check the instruction sheet, or the web site http://www.windrider.com.hk

Kenko,

CG position is very important to a Glider, because it need to minimize the energy lost to enhence flying. If you are flying a power plane, you can trim the elevator to make the plane stable, but you cannot do the same for glider, especially when the wind is weak. You need to move the Battery or receiver to make the plane balance at the CG position, or as close to it as possible. But remember if you cannot achieve this, you need to add weight on tail or nose to make it balance.
If you want the plane to be more stable, try to make the nose slightly heavier, but if you want the plane to be more sensitive, you can make the tail slightly heavy.
Balance at 1/2" away from the CG is a big variation for Easy Pro as its wing chord is very short. If you do not adjust the position again, you may not be able to fly it. Remember to install a BB to your plane before flying, it is important.

Suggest to modify existing Rudder (make it bigger).

Kenko,

Have you ever tried it because I had a Easy Pro too and C/G is not necessary. Anyway, the name is EASY but actually it is not easy to fly for a beginner.

Kenko,

Sorry for misleading you. What I mean is difficult to control instead. I totally agree what Ken said.

For your information, I think EPP Bee would be more suitable for you of which can be brought from Tsz Ming directly if you are the member of HKRCSS. Please contact him.

I think the Aileron version is easier to control. The problem of the plane is "hard to make turn" which is due to the size of the rudder. Do some modification before it's maiden flight.

I've seen a lot of beginners flying the Rudder version Easy not that easy at CWB. Small rudder movement could be a cause.

But lack of wing dihedral was a common problem.
The flat wing make the yaw movement (so necessary for rudder planes) almost impossible especially during light wind situation.

Most of the beginners just sadly carried their Easy's back home and might never come back again.

The Aleron version is a much better option.

Several friends of mine gave up flying because they were afraid of going downhill for plane recovery.

Remember 10 months ago when I was new to slope flying, one time I spend 1.5 hours at CWB searching for my lost plane and that's really a hard work.

I have had the same experience too. Going downhill for plane recovery is a barrier but it is a first step for a beginner to encounter. So I suggest the beginners should bring along with a trainer cord in the very beginning if they need assistance from senior pilots at the flying site.

Taking this opportunity, I would like to express my appreciation to some senior pilots especially Alan Chan who taught me a lot.

Dear All

I got many feedback about the Easy (rudder) not easy to turn problem, but I can say Easy can turn very well, I use this plane to teach so many beginner already, please make sure:
1. Enough ballast on the nose.
2. Fuselage close to the tail side not bended.
3. Rudder able to move freely left to right.
Anyway, I am thinking to enlarge the rudder 1 CM more to make it more easy to beginner.
