Hi HK VR team,

Thanks for the pictures. Very nice!

How about the flying sites? I read from Yahoo group F3F that someone had already flew the plane into the sea!

What is the numbers on your coats?

From the photos I can see a very crisp division between the sky and the sea. Must be very clean air :o

Big wok!?

But the HKSAR flag is on the same orientation as the Iceland and Norway flags. It's true that they are opposite to the Germany flag but I don't see there is a big problem.

How about the US flag?

Hendry,

You are very bright on the flags! I think the HKSAR flag is OK but when I was checking the HK flag I found there may be some real problems on the Solvakia, Spain, United states and the Venezuela flags. They are flipped. I don't know if it is acceptable in real practice (since a flag can be viewed from both sides).

CM

Hi, we have completed the first day contest with three rounds of result.

The slope that we flew today is different with what we have for training yesterday. The wind speed was at 5 m/s in the morning and went up to 13m/s in the late afternoon. The landing was a bit challenging because we need to walk 300m away from the start point and there are lots of tree obstructing the sight.
Mak's first landing unfortunately ended in diaster, he lose sight of his Newsting during the landing and his Newsting nearly went into the water, fortunately, the plane was last crashed back on to the slope and went directly into a tree. You will sure see another two big holes on the other side of his wing! He is now too busy to repair the plane and hopefully get it back to the combat line tomorrow.

We got ton of photos and movies with world top pilots flying their models. However the internet connection speed is too slow for us to upload the picture, will do it as much as we can later.

Our results in the first three rounds are not good but we hope we can do better on the way as we graduately adapting to the local condition.

Cheers

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

New Sting
Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

I'm #27, Stanley is #7, and YC is #51.
So, we can have time to help each other.
There are a lot of slopes in that area for all wind conditions.
We have been to a new slope everyday!
It was rather difficult to fly in a new site each day :?

Hello Mak, and the HK VR team,

Changing flying location everyday is definity not favourable, but this is equal to all the contestants (except the Germany, forget them :!: ). Just take it as a challenge. Everytime there is a new slope, it is also new to the others. Fly as you're in Hong Kong. F3F is against time, not against the other opponents. I believe you guys can adapt to new condition easily, as it has been proven in the last FNS F3F.

After all, it is a game, so enjoy it

Hi all,

For those of you who want the latest news from the front line, you may goto the F3X website from Norway.

http://www.f3x.no/index2.htm

Though most of the information is related to the Norway teams. Note that Andreas Herrig of Germany flew a 34.7sec yesterday and the best yet is 32.5sec.

Hi,
we have just finished the third day competition.
We did quite well on the second day. Our position in the overall ranking is improved. Mak and Y.C. have finished round 6 yesterday but mine not yet as there were rain in the late afternoon. So my round 6 was run in the morning, today but on a different slope. For which the lift is general worse than the yesterday slope.
So one - third of the pilots who did round 6 today have stated a protest and the jury decided to split the pilots into two groups for calcualting the score.
Nevertheless I did quite well on round 6, my overall ranking was once jump to 45 from 49 yesterday.
But unfornately, my round 7 result was a diaster 54s because I had two cuts. Round 8 and 9 are 47s and 44s, not bad so my position should go up a bit. The fastest time for round 9 is only 40s so in that sense I am happy with this result.
My Sting's fuse was again demaged in landing today and I need to repair tonight.
Mak is also improving with 49s, 50s, and 47s in round 7, 8 and 9.
Unfornately, his NYX was crashed into a tall tree during landing on after round 9 run.
There is a big hole on the wing! Seems that his planes really love tree!

Very unfornately Y.C. was sick the whole day and absent from the competition, so the HKG team position was likely dropped to the end of the ranking list! Y.C. does look very sick after I and Mak come back from the contest to see him, look like he will be absent from tomorrow competition too! Anyway, he is resting in bed for over 24 hours now and hope he is recovering soon.

The temperture here is below 10 and the windchill factor is high so our fingers are shaking during flight, but our moral are still high.

Mak will upload some photos after he has repaired his NYX.

Stanley damaged the Sting again :(

Today's flying site. Landing zone have large rotors which can turn your plane upside down.

Stabley got 44" with the NYX.

A lot of Elita flying on VR2004.

This guy crashed his NewSting by point A.

My NewSting had a quick patch last night.

Today, my NYX land on top of a tree.
Well ! more repairs to do

It's ready to fly again :)

but Stanley crash landing today!
So, more repairs

People have different kind of methods for their repair job.
Here's one with a beer-can covering
Image

Waiting for too long to fly?
No! We've done 4 rounds today with 77 contestents.
That is over 300 flights in a day
Image

Looking for your new results ?
Image

YC made a mess with his plane, by digging with the Elita's nose
Image

Here's HK team with their war ships.
Image

A plane landed on a pole ?
It's just some pilot making turns, right at the base.
How did they manage that
