Today have a contact with Air cadet HK instructor Mr Leung , They have interesting in the glider and also interesting in this new sport F3K . They have also involve in the P5B too in china . but we need to let them know our event schedule . Let they have time to arrange their team to join us and they can offer us the flying site (i think is the middle mountain in Cheung Kwan O ). But i think it is a good start to let more young guy to know and involve in F3k .

YES!!!!
KIN, please talk to them and see when they are free to try F3K! Please schedule it so it is not conflicting with the F3K league (1st weekend of each month) and I will be able to go. Sunday please, I need to work on Saturday. If it must be Saturday, then maybe I can get a day off...

I assume they would want a demonstration first to see what it is about?

Yes , ! they are big number of young guy and instructor also have interesting it , They just less the instructor in their club , i think i will put more time to their group let see the result from there . I belive we can have more "new blood " there ! i will keep in touch them . if you can fix it in 16 and 23 . i can report them the date , let see where they will go or we have a location to let both guy join together , maybe try 深涌 again or use their middle mount ?? it is make decision from us first in thie first contact ? use a short distance (middle mount or take boat trip 深涌 ?

Hi Kin,

Johnson and Allan had flown DLG in the Air Cadet airport before. Actually not a very good site for DLG because of the tubulance. It is leeward slope in the winter time too. In fact, I think slope soaring is possible there when blowing S or SW!

As an introduction of DLG to the public it is a nice place because traffic is easier and no worry of dropping your model in the water !

Kin, let's see if they are interested to have a demo on the 23rd. That will give almost 3 weeks to prepare and plan.
Slope doesn't matter for demo to public, the most important thing is the launch and to have some small areas where we can thermal, main point is just to show them what is a DLG.

I think it is a piece of wetland hence it is difficult to walk around . Take off and spot landing are feasible within the field available. Hope I am wrong!

Could we try the new/temporary glassland just between City Hall and Pier 10 at Central? A music show was held over there in Nov.Does anyone know which Government department should we contact?

我估除了深涌之外,最好都是去西貢水上活動中心塊地,在北潭涌大家share的士,比去深涌座船更便宜

Yes, you are right.
That's why it's only good for F5J which you don't have to walk around.

KY,
I talked to some SCSA guys, seems like some of them may be interested in coming to HK on the Saturday night, and then flying the contest with us on Sunday!! I will keep promoting the February 24th contest and see if I can get some to come. :)
