阿楊,F3B世界賽係國內搞當然係滑翔界盛事,我地香港可唔可以組隊參賽呀?一來可以去學習交流,又可以提高本地飛友對F3B的興趣!

Interesting to follow the thread on rcgroups. Huh? Let's see how it develops.
Anyway, if it is the PRC government supporting to host this event, we may see some quick promotion of F3B very soon, yet there has not even a PRC team in the past (maybe some inspectors will go to Czech this year, who knows??) I have no doubt in the skill of our PRC pilots, China had rc flying event in 全运会 in the past, but have concerns in hosting the event nowadays.

From my limited knowledge of preparing a F3B contest, it is not only the ability to fly but fund, equipment and logistics. The Japan team of 2009 WC was elected last year , this allows the selected pilots a whole year to prepare all their stuff, (ordering planes, tuning, tow line setting, the team members , the full time helpers and most important --- fund)
It is very different from contesting in F3F, you just bring your plane and fly, 3B is a quite different activity.

Of course we may not need that professional in our first attemp, but some decent among of effort and money are needed.

CM, if you can wake up early this easter holidays, you can join me in some winch launching at Kaitak (we must leave the site at 10:30AM).

Mak,
I practiced this Easter holiday at Kaitak. However, you must enter the site before 6:30 AM and must leave the flying sites by 10:30am.

Height of grass is just perfect now. I caught lift many times even at poor launch height. Very very nice experience.

However, we all know that the site may not sustain long.
