Skorpion & Extreme lovers, you better have "Plan B" for your vee-tails :!:

The vee-tail of Skorpion & Extreme were based on the "self-destruction" concept  That is, if under hard landings or crash, the vee-tail joiner will break by itself to miminize damage on fuse & vee-tail :o

I verified this "self-destruction" 2 times - one pcs in MOS and two pcs in Peng Hu :!:

However, finding a replacement of the vee-tail joiner is extremely difficult because the diameter is 7 mm - no any standard dimension you can find  It was also tested not possible to use 8 mm hollow carbon rod to modify :?

After exhaustive search, I found a nice substitution - hollow carbon rod with 7mm outer & 6mm inner - perfectly fitting to Skorpion (and very likely good fit to Extreme as well). With this hollow carbon rod, it is possible to fill the inside at different options

a. Use "ugly" wood inside such as the original design

b. Use "epoxy / micro-ballon" - the first generation Skorpion

c. Use standard 6mm hollow carbon rod - my choice

Where to find such 7mm outer & 6mm inner hollow carbon rod :?: Still some limited stock in Dong Fong Street - it was originally made for heli shaft but already stopped in productoin :o

Feel free to stock some if you want stay long with your Skorpion / Extreme  You may bring the fuse for test fit there as well

Tested in past few weeks of flights :o

This repair approach is reliable and robust. No problem for flying with sub-40s and the vee-tail join didn't break even with hard landings :o

左邊是原裝,右邊是經修復.我的方法是以 Epoxy + Micro Ballon 填滿 6mm 空心炭管.
