Hi All,
The weather forecast is promising for this Sunday.
While the time schedule may not be very tight, can we have two classes (say open and S400 or under 1.5m wing span), or staying simple with the original schefule but leaving some time for speed pylon flying.

Anybody would like to have a 400 class pylon demo race on that day?

Put a Hughes 500 body on it. There is one in Waigo

Sham Chung has a very good view and grass field, so let's fly scale :)

Come on! Where are you? We can not hold a contest with just 8 pilots!
We need more!

Only a few days left, we have to make the neccesary arrangement with the village chief in Sham Chung.

For those who will come but not join the contest, let us know also please.

Based on the the last DLG contest, the journey took nearly 1-hr walking. No extra cost except the daily parking fee $30.
If going by boat, it'll take 15min plus ??min to wait for the boater plus a fare of $20 to 40 per person??? per trip.
Taking the boat will be a bit easier as there'll be more equipment to bring along with than the DLG. We may have to separate the participants to groups as the capacity of a boat is limited to 6 people???. Apart from Uncle Shek's boat, we may have to call for other boaters to enable for pick up at one time instead of shuttle around for 3 to 4 times. I remembered once we'd ridden on a white boat which was larger, faster and took 2 more passengers than those blue ones for fishing. Can anybody check for it if we decide to go by boat and also the availability of parking at Sam Pau Chau.
Please show your preference and no. of members to go along with, or walking is the choice.

Count 1 for me.
Allan

Also anyone got floater for tapping on sailplanes to make them "water planes" ?

It will be great if while we are boating, we don't need to carry them but simply let them fly to the destination - during the 15 mins boating time 8)

I strongly advise to walk to Sham Chung from Yung Shu O. The reason is there is no parking space in Sam Pui Chau. I've been there a few weeks ago, the parking space are rare and mostly occupied by lorries. The gate through a private house to the beach was also closed and we needed to circle the village for a much longer route. The pier is also private which can not be used by us, so we have to board the boat in the public pier which is about 10 minutes away.

We better park our cars in Yung Shui O and walk to Sham Chung which is a pleasant walk anyway.

I just called Mr. Li the village chief in Sham Chung. He told me that the grass field is going to be re-developed as golf field and the property owner is no longer allowed the public to use the land including those campers. But as I have already notified him long time ago that we will be there this Sunday, he assured me that we still can go there this Sunday. Probably this is the last time that we can fly gliders there!

I have asked him to prepare lunch for us also, so please do come, don't miss your last chance to fly there and take more photos for memory!

Hi, I note the following private ferry transportation, has someone got the experience. Please comment.

I plan to take the 8:30 am ferry.
Here is the link and there is further guideline to go to the Ma Lui Shui pier.

http://www.traway.com.hk/

I also think of parking the car at Science park, or just take the KCR to go there but it takes over one hour to travel from Tseung Kwan O to the University station by MTR + KCRC. Driving is just 20 minutes.

Checked with HK Science Park for visitor car parking.
For Sunday and public holiday, it is
First hour HK$6, the HK$2 (TWO!!) per hour afterward.
24 hours service
From the carpark to the ferry pier will takes 20 miuntes on foot, or just 1 stop by bus route 272.

Parking as visitor in Chinese University is possible and closer to the pier but cost:
HK$20 the first hour and
HK$10 for every HALF hour afterward.

Checked with the ferry company,
the 8.30 am ferry is not full yet, you may arrive at the pier at 8:00 am and then walk in, the return ferry on Sunday is 6:15pm from Sam Chung , so we can play a bit later.
