Hello,

my name is Jo and I live in Belgium. My mother in law will travel to Hong Kong to visit her relatives (she was born in Hong Kong) and she is willing to pick up some rc stuff for me. So I am looking for a rc shop where I can order some brushless motors and some lipo-batteries for my gliders. Could you experts help me out in which shop I could order? And which type of motor could I use to power an 2.6m span glider? Could you please give me some suggestions as I live on the other side of the world and looking on the internet doesn't make me any wiser.
Thank you very much for your kind help!!!

Jo

Hi Jo,

There are many r/c shops here selling motors, lipo-batteries stuff. Here are two that we go quite often:

Waigo Model
http://www.waigohobby.com/
This shop has more inventories - ask a guy call Ah Kin, he knows everything and is one of our top pilots in electric aircraft racing. But mind you that many items in this shop do not have a list price and the lady sitting in the cashier may charge you astronomically if she wishes!! Generally, their items are more expensive than other shops in HK.

Radar Co. Ltd.
http://www.radarrc.com/
This is a more reliable shop in terms of business practice; they also have good items in electric planes.

Apart from these shops, there are quite a few shops selling brushless motors, some are very cheap, in particular for those Chinese made motors. It may cost only HK$ 60 for just a CD-ROM motor, or HK$150 for a Hacker equivalent Chinese motor.

Enjoy your shopping here!

Thx Stanley for your advice! Unfortunately I can't open http://www.radarrc.com/ but if you (or someone else) can give me some more links I will be very grateful. My Hong Kong "nephew" will order the parts and he will pick them up at the store or have them delivered to his Hong Kong address.
Jo
