Pylon racers, it's time to get your planes, motors and batteries out again. Hands up if you're still interested and will join the event. If there'll only be a few participants, I'll suggest to have a DLG or LMR contest after the pylon fun fly/demo race section.

I'll join too. If my racer can't last till June, I'll take a parkflyer to the circuit.

Will the contest still be conducted in groups as posted? Or it will be revised as one pilot at one like the F3F format for time-taken on 10 laps. Or we may set the contest for fun. i.e. the 1st section is one-by-one F3F format. The 2nd section will be a dog-fight, 2 or 3 planes can be goruped to chase among themselves within 10 laps.
It will be up to the pilots to join the 1st or the 2nd section or both.
Any comment or suggestions?

I guess running a F3F type of contest is easier as we already have the timing equipment, also most likely we do not have enough man power to be judges for multiple plane pylon. Instead of Lamma Island, we can have the contest in Shamchung.

If possible we can also organize a fun race using multiple planes (up to the pilots) after the formal F3F-type contest. Instead of a timing event, the winner will be the plane who complete the course of 10 laps first.

Anyway, how many of you will join the race?

Here is the current registration list:

BigYeung (Allan)
Yeung (Johnson)
Stanley (with a badly damaged plane

If there's not many pilots joining the contest, holding the contest at Shamchung is a good suggestion. I'll join the F3F format racing and the group demo flight with an easy driving plane.
Don'y worry about the speed! Join with us to have the fun & experience!

CM,
What'll you intend to have? A F3O plane?

Ken, you are correct :)

Well, I only want to join the event but I do not want to make a new plane for it (I am too old to fly pylon racing, response is slow .. )

When flying in group, please be reminded to follow the condition and specification posted for the event as far as possible for the plane/machine used.
Big difference in dimension of the planes will hinder the pilots to judge the relative position among the planes flying closely and may result in unnecessary, frequent change in flying route which is dangerous on fast running and may lead to mid-air collision or crash on ground.
Please follow the spec. as posted!
Of course, for F3F-type individual running, it will not be a concern.

How is the preparation for this event? Does every body get the planes ready? Please indicate whether you will join the event. Even the planes may not be ready for race, we may have a fun fly gathering or a display of your collection or design of the 'pylon racer'.
Where will we hold the event? Sham Chung or the place that YC mentioned?

I have 2 long fishing posts with length 10m, but I do not have any tool to make them stand up on the site. Any idea or any body can help on the set up? please post their comments or ways on this site. Otherwise we cannot have the 2 posts for the contest.

Ken,

Just to prepare some nylon strings & camp nails if you know how to build a camp.
