RC Slope Soaring in Hong Kong

提醒各位飛友，滑翔機會已計劃在6月14日舉行一場電動滑翔機留空及定點降落賽。比賽地點暫定是南丫島石礦場，但我們已經幾年無去過南丫島比賽，未知最近那裡的情況怎樣。如果南丫島不行，深涌又得唔得？

Apart from Ah Mak and I, anybody is intested in this event?
The weather forecast will be cloudy with rain on coming week-end. If there're enough fans to join, it may have to track on the weather change and determine whether to hold or to re-schedule the event.
If only 1 or 2, should we have to postpone the event to next quarter or to drop it?
Any comment? Interested, not interested? held at Sum Chung, at Lamma? Need more preparation time?

It seems Sam Chung be better if the lawn & store are still available. We can day-park at Science Park, take ferry at early morning, return at noon or evening. Really don't know the situation of Lamma now.

Hi all,
not quite sure whether the conversation is positive or negative but I would really like to join if the event is going to be held this sunday or another date in the future. I have never competed in timing and location landing but it looks very interesting !!

Any decision on go or no go tomorrow?

Weather forecast will be heavy rain with thunderstorm. I'll suggest postponing the contest to July or August. Any suggestion or comment?

In the view of poor weather tomorrow and lack of interest, the event will be postponed. The decision to select a suitable day for the postponed will be decided in the upcoming HKRCSS committee meeting and announced it later.

Recently, the number of pilots interested in electric glider spot landing and duration contest are declining, why?

For your memory, a few years ago, we have over 40 pilots contesting in Lamma island, most of them now seem disappeared from the glider arena!

Please be reminded that the electric glider duration and spot landing contest was re-scheduled to 27 September, 2009. I hope we can go back to Shamchung to run the contest there. In the mean time, please be prepared for the contest. For details, please check up this link

Anybody will join the event this time? Except for Sum Chung and Lamma Island, there could be some good & convenient place to held the race.
Hands up if you've or going to have your e-glider ready. We may run a half-day race in late morning for at least 3 to 4 rounds but sufficient to run out all your battery up high the sky before joining your family gather or other activities in the afternoon

It seems only a few people will join ! Hurry up! Don't wait, It'll be difficult to arrange till the last moment. For no more than 10 participants, the race could be held at 8:30am till 11:00am at car reachable site and not necessarily be at Shum Chung or Lamma Island.
