Good idea. But landing area allowed for 4 or more landing sports(ls) will be very close if we plan for all ls be on the short grass area. Nobody will expect the landing spots be on the long grass area. I think the ls should be better at areas where the guys are now launching the DLGs. The game may have to reduce to 3 planes in a group to minimize chances on accidents, ease of landing distance measurement and plane retrieval.

My own personal opinion, too much thermal will be too easy too hold in air, but too less will be too difficult to the new guy like me, if possible, better to have 3 to 4 contest in a year with different weather and conditions like F3F.

The electric glider duration and spot landing contest is scheduled to be held in Ping Che on 22 August 2004. For more information, please see: http://www.hkrcss.org/eplane_announce_pingcheC.html

Since there are many pilots expressing their interest in handlaunch glider contest, HKRCSS has also decided to organize a HLG/DLG thermal duration contest on 12 September 2004. Details will be announced soon.

Author:  ken [ Mon Aug 02, 2004 11:45 am ]
Post subject:

 Hi CM,
I agree with you as I planned to use a EPP glider, which I could pin pointed to the mat for landing.

Hi Tze Ming,
What is your weapon? I will use your product same as last year, but this time is a Ele-easy instead of Ele-Bee!! I am busy in making it, and aimming to fly it with the total weight below 400g. :P

:D Hi CM & Tze Ming,
Just finished the Ele-Easy, all-up-weight is 380g, static thrust is 288g, he..he....
I think she could climb at 60 degree up, and motor-cal says she would climb up to 400 meters in 40 seconds. So you guys better watch out!! :P

Is it using your home made CDROM motor?

:) Hi CM,
Of course is using my homemade BL. I use a double ball bearing with a stator of 8mm thick. N45 magnet, 0.4mm wire at 17 rounds. This BL is the most powerful that I have ever made. :)

:) Dear Ken,
Rule 3.3 states that the battery for Li-ion or Li-poly are not allowed more than 2S, ie. 7.2V or 7.4V. However, 7 cell of Ni-MH or Ni-CD could have 8.4V or 8.75V (some rechargeable batteries have 1.25V per cell). It seems not quite fair for the pilot who use Li-ion as there has 10 odds percent of energy differency. Would you consider to change 7 cells for Ni-CD/Ni-MH to 6 cells ?? :?
