I'll join the contest if it can be postponed to 15/5 or 22/5.
I can't be freed-up on 8/5 and hope the e-pylon race can still stick to 5June as I'll not be available again on 12June.

I am suggesting to postpone the contest to 15 May (one week later), so that it is not too close to the E-pylon race.

Since we have done very little to promote HKRCSS open day yet (we need to give Ah Pong a kick), it is better to postpone the open day all together. Perhaps, the best time to hold an open day is in October when the weather is nicer for the newcomers to learn r/c soaring.

Any one object we postpone the handlaunch contest to 15 May?

Hay George and Eric, do you think we can stay at Lamma Island at Sunday night and then continue the e-pylon game on the following Monday? Remember :
16/5 is public holiday.
Travelling again across the harbour tunnel takes time and cost.
Travelling to and from Lamma Island will take more cost....
Sounds interesting.....hah..

I have contacted Uncle and tell them we want to postpone our DLG contest to 15 May.

He said it shouldn't be any problem and he will cancel the resturant booking for us.

So we officially postpone the DLG contest to Sunday, 15 May.

Hope that we will have more people participating in this event.

Cheers

I think the weather forcast for Sunday is promising with sunny periods and only a few rain patches (the best we can expect in summer rainly season!). I guess even if we postpone the contest again, the weather in the coming months will not be promising either!
We will make the decision on Friday but I still need the number now.

Author:  Y C Lui [ Thu May 12, 2005 4:36 pm ]
Post subject:

The weather actually looks more promising, sunny the whole today and the wind actually droping. If Sunday is sunny again, even with 3-4 wind speed, the thermal activity will be STRONG enough for lots of fun there! So I would expect the event will be held as planned.

I have confirmed with Uncle, we will go, but of course, if the weather is going the other way, we can still cancel the booking on Saturday. Cheers!
