Thanks CM!

I suggest we fly 5 rounds (there is 1 drop round after 5 completed rounds).
It will leave lot's of time for error, and I suspect we can finish early. If we finish early, we can simply fun fly and discuss the techniques for DLG's together.

Image

I have selected the above 5 tasks for our contest. Please read the descriptions, if you are not familiar with the task or have any questions, please post and I will clarify. I will also go through each task individually during the pilot's meeting as well.

Please sign up and I'll keep this list updated!!

Pilot's List

1. Thomas Lee 2.4ghz
2. Michael Pang 2.4ghz
3. Kin Cheung 2.4ghz
4. CM Cheng 2.4ghz
5. Johnson Yeung 2.4ghz
6. Allen Yeung 2.4ghz
7. Stanley 2.4ghz
8. KY Mak 72.270

We can run the competition in Sham Chung if there are no better sites.

btw. there should be ONE CD in a race.
Since Thomas is more knowlegable in F3K, my sugestion is Thomas Lee be the CD, and I will be a helper.

My DLG's batteries is still dead!
I'll join if I can get it replaced in time.

Hi Thomas,
Do you know if Michael is member of HKRCSS? Please advise him to join the club in respect of insurance coverage.

Hi Johnson,

Is HKRCSS membership a req' for the contest? I don't think he is a member of HKRCSS, and I don't think he will be interested in joining to just fly 1 contest...

To get official nomination by the HKRCSS , say FAI, or overseas events, yes.
Please understand that is always the flying field owner that is dealing with HKRCSS as an entity so we can only allow members to join in.

If it is just for fun or flying any where, he has to take his own risk . The Law Wah case is so influential to the RC world.
It is not our saying that DLG is so lighweight and powerless, but how the victim is going to shoot you unreasonably when there is incidence.

Back to this or upcoming "official" event, I opt to say "Yes, please join, it is just a few hundred $ every year". (Can CM please have some input here).

Hi Yeung and Thomas,

We request all pilots who participate in HKRCSS F3F activities must hold a 3rd party insurance. Accidents due to F3F can be very serious and so it is a mandatory. Not only for the compensation but we want the one who joins can always keep in mind that the nature of F3F is different from the other "light flyings".

For the others such as EPP and HLG activities, we highly recommand the pilots who join should also hold a 3rd party insurance. We consulted Willy and that the case "how the victim is going to shoot you unreasonably when there is incidence" is usually an extrggeration. If it is a pilot error, the pilot is liable for it. If it is the activity organizer's error, the organizer is liable for it (So Thomas you better make sure that we all know how to fly a dlg properly! LOL). To be honest, EPP and HLG are more forgiving than powered models and F3F. We therefore accept non members to join. But for our club's policy, we recommand all pilot should hold a 3rd party insurance.

EPP and HLG are light and safe, but what if the model hit a car and caused the car rolls down the slope? It is your own risk not to buy an insurance.

Regards,
CM Cheng

Thomas,
Do you mean each pilot can fly task D, G, A, C and H for 5 rounds or each task is classified as 1 round?

Thanks for the explanation CM, I will let Michael know.
I agree that insurance is a big thing, it was mandatory for us when we renew MAAC membership in Canada.

BigYeung, each round consists of 1 task, theoretically, all 5 rounds can be the same task, or any task from the FAI Task list. Each round will likely consist of 2 heats for us, so, there will be 10 total heats.
Each pilot can drop 1 score after 5 rounds.

Hi guys,

My girlfriend got a new job a few weeks ago so cannot come and help out at the contest anymore.
I will try to do most of the work if necessary, more help is always welcome!
I have 5 additional stop watches, and 20 clipboards for score keeping.
I will bring a laptop for the score keeping.
I will try to get the loudspeaker system tomorrow from Guangzhou, I forgot to get it last week when I took the other stuff... :(

Does anyone have a car/winch battery and a transformer to power the laptop? It is too heavy for me to bring from GZ tomorrow.

I have 2 prelim logos for the team, please take a look and let me know what you think:

Hi Thomas,

Thank you very much for your help !!

For F3F, we record the result on a paper and input it to the computer at the end of the competition. So it is OK to run the lap top on its own power. I am not sure about F3K. Do you need to have the computer running all the day?

各為朋友,久別的F3K比賽還有一星期就舉行,有興趣就快啲報名啦!!唔駛因為"比賽"而嚇怕,可以當同樂日玩吓,F3K的比賽規則係很有趣的,一啲都唔悶! :o

Hi CM,

If we do not use the computer then we will need to use a 大声公 to yell the countdowns/working time/etc. It's possible for a small contest and will be much more convenient to carry. I can do the random groupings on the computer at the field, so it will have enough battery life. I setup all the score cards so that final scores can be calculated very conveniently manually.

In that case, everyone please bring a pen or pencil to write down scores. As mentioned earlier, I will have 5 extra stopwatches, but if you have an iphone or android device, you can download the F3K Timer or F3K Master, it is much more convenient and tells you remaining working time/etc for all the different tasks.

If you guys have comments on the logo please let me know, I want to try and finalize it in a few days and start getting some pricing for the shirts and setup a shirt-selling fundraiser similar to what I've done previously for the Canadian team.

KY, Should I add you on the list? Get your plane ready :)

Thomas
