Hi everyone,

Would anyone be interested in a DLG gathering in Yuen Long (Nam Sang Wai) on the 18th?
It will be great if we can spark some local interest in DLGs again... thermal flight is like magic :)

I have attached a photo of Nam Sang Wai, and maps there from Yuen Long.

Stanley, would the 18th work for you and your friends? How many people have you talked to so far? I have asked the Guangzhou and Shenzhen pilots, but Pan Hao and other GZ pilots will not be able to come on the 18th, because we have a gathering in Shenzhen on the 25th and they do not want to travel so far on 2 consecutive weekends. I will try to see if anyone in ShenZhen can come down on the 18th.

Thomas

I am ok on 18th but not 25th.
Perhaps, if we get sufficient pilots to the gathering, we can run a thermal duration contest as what we have done before.
Are there other pilots interested also?

That's great, lets set the date on the 18th then.
To respond to Albert's concern, it is certainly true. There is quite a bit of people flying different things there on Sundays. Therefore, it is not suitable to fly contests, but if it is just a couple guys flying for fun it should be OK. It would be best if we can go fly a bit earlier though, so that there are less people. Would it be possible to meet there at around 9?

On the other hand, are there any other fields we could possibly use?

Just as another option, I occasionally fly at this field in Tai Tong. It is a gravel parking lot, so landings are not good. I have flown there maybe 20 times, but have only seen some people fly helicopters there once. Perhaps this might work for a couple of us to fly for fun?

Has anyone flown at this site in Tseung Kwan O by the TVBcity?

Yes, I did.
However, I am afraid this side has been blocked. We can probably fly at the other side of the road.

I am not familiar enough with the Hong Kong flying sites, do you guys have a suggestion for where we may be able to fly?
Usually when I fly in Hong Kong I just fly at the rock field at Tai Tong and at Nam Sang Wai (but I usually fly there before work, so, no one is there :P)

I would love to be able to fly at a site without helicopters too, because not only are they dangerous, but they are very annoying too

Hi Johnson,
Do you think we can do DLG practice there? Look like it does not have any grass and also some water in the field. Is it dangerous to fly closed to the main road nearby?

Johnson, thanks for the photos, that field looks usable from the photos, although you probably won't want to have the plane touch the ground there.

Tai Po sounds good too, it sounds like it would be great for a couple of us to fly at.

Hi Johnson and Thomas,

Shall we organize a DLG practice session in TKO this Sunday (18 Mar) to try out the muddy field there?
