Has there been any other initiatives such as this, and has it been successful?

Thomas, Mak is the officer handling this activity for our society. I am sure he will arrange some hand launch gliding activities for our members very soon. I have some past experience which I would like to share with you.

It is not difficult to deal with government to book a playground for our hand launch game and the cost will not be high too. But we cannot find a good playground in HK which can have good thermo and stable wind. If you think there is one, you can suggest and we can deal with the departments. We have tried the playground at SaiKung and Tseung Kwan O before. The SaiKung site has too strong wind from sea. The Tseung Kwan O site has too many buildings around, it makes the thermo or wind non-stable. If there is any good sites, please raise your suggest and we would like to try.

I have some Thermo planes at home and I am waiting for a chance to fly with them.

Thank you Ken.
That's great news, the Yuen Long Stadium will get my vote. I go past it everyday and it does not have any activities inside. Also, the surrounding buildings are quite small and low, so it should not produce any significant rotors.

What would be a good date for everyone? I am thinking about early September will be good.

Hi Thomas,

We are going to have a day out to 塔門島, where you can fly your thermal plane.
Come and enjoy a good day with our nice pilots : )
