Hi, after many years out of sailplanes, I am comming back with a Salto 2400 arf from Lenger. I am not so clear how you connect the V tail. I guess you should not use the regular pushrods (plastic) and horns? I hope someone with a similar plane could give me an idea, I am new to this kind of plane. There are not instructions, only a graph with carbon fiber push rods mentioned. A graph or a picture will be greatly appreciated ! Thank you in advance. |

I think I have the same plane. For the V-tail I have try both steel wire with housing and direct push rod. But no matter what I do, the linkage still feel soft. Your best bet is to use a 5mm dia carbon rod with ball link at the tail end. This seems to give best result. Good luck on your build. By the way, the manufacture recommanded CG is way too far forward, I have to shim at least 2 to 3mm at the front of the V-tail to reduce the incidence angle in order to fly properly. |

Hi ATsui. The manufacturer recommend the CG at 61 mmn from the LE. I really appreaciate if someone could place a pic of a ball link and carbon fiber rod configuration (in any similar V tail plane) or a graph so I can see it more clearly. I have been out of sailplanes for about 18 years, my last plane was an Olympic II , ...jajajaja... I think that if I bend a wire I would get a soft set up, as you said. Should I perform kind of a Z bending? It seems quite a challenge to get it done properly. Lets see . Thank you again !!! |

I found out a couple of connectors inside the plane...now I think that I can do it, it is easier than I though. |
