Hi,

I have recently been very interested in the RC flying hobby and have started to built my own delta wing from online plans.

I have been mostly into rc cars particularly of the nitro variety.

I have the general idea from the flying rc sims. Can someone suggest a safe area closer to Tuen mun to practice my crashing lol...

Also is this club mostly into gliders?

Cheers

Hello,

There is a soaring site in Tuen Mun but it is for south-easterly and the season has already passed. We usually fly in Fei Ngo Shan (飛鵝山) in the summer time for the south and south-westerly.

Simulator is a good starting point but RC glider is not that difficult to fly, especially you have an indestructable EPP wing! Go to Fei Ngo Shan when the wind is SW and Clear Water Bay when the wind is E or NE in autumn and winter.
Find Sam-Goh (三哥) to have a free flight lesson. He is the flying instructor of HKRCSS and he is more than happy to help beginners!

Good Luck!

I have completed, crashed and totally destroyed the attached Delta, lol

But it was a great learning experience, now I know a little more about the CoG and how not to launch your delta.

After finding what i did wrong, i have come across more forgiving model of Aircraft and delta wings, will definitely build a KFm based Delta Next.
