Flap -> elevator mixing
Flap -> aileron mixing
Aileron -> flap mixing
Aileron -> rudder mixing
Elevator -> flap mixing
Butterfly mixing

I am a good example.

I started to play glider with a 4 ch Skyport. Then after half a year or so, I started to play glider with flaperons (2 servos on the wings), and I had to buy a Futaba 6TXA. Then, later, I started to play gliders with flaps and ailerons, so I had no choice but bought a 9C.

Now I play heli also, and the 9C is good enough. But I turn out to have 3 transmitters at home. What a waste of $$$

So, think thoroughly - will you play it long, and will you try others e.g. heli / power plane (I swore I would only play glider at the beginning, but after seeing heli, I played it, too)? If so, you better buy one good tx instead of several.

Danny is right. If your budget is limited, you may consider getting a 2nd hand JR / Futaba 9 ch transmitter. They typically cost about HK$1200 - HK$1500. The transmitter will serve you for quite many years to come.

If i really only want to play different gliders, how about futaba 6TXA, is it enough to support all kind of gliders with mixer functions.
my choice is futaba skysport4 + FF9 (if necessery later)
or futaba 6TXA
have anyone give me some suggestions? thank a lot.

Hi Billy,

If you have decided that you are really interested in r/c modelling, go straight to purchase a FF9 - this will give you probably 10 years of trouble free operation without a need to change to a better control. I've, myself, gone through an incremental route with 2ch 27MHz, Skysport 4, FF7, FF8 and soon FF9. Now I have a few unused transmitters taking lots of places at home and are always the targets of my wife's throw out list! The only plus to have multiple transmitters is when you want to train new commers using a trainer cord.
