Post subject:  Clarification of Insurance Coverage for HKRCSS Members

Recently, some HKRCSS members and other glider pilots have raise a concern about the insurance coverage of model glider flying for HKRCSS insurance policy by Blue Cross. Well, I have been repeatly explaining this policy again and again. Ok, let me explain it again here:

The policy is for a third-party HK$3 million coverage for radio model flying activities anywhere within the territory of Hong Kong. Please see a summarized term extracted from the schedule below. For more details, HKRCSS members can log into the page and check on the schedule and terms here

If you look at this policy, you will see that our policy is a very good deal with Blue Cross. Basically, we can fly anywhere in Hong Kong (obviously not in those areas prohibited by law) for any radio controlled models including helicopter and power aircraft.

I hope that all of you will be cleared of any confusion about this insurance policy. Let me know if you need more explanation.

Stanley,

It's better to display the full insurance details. There must be other terms about the coverage in small prints too.

As I said, for details, please go to our club web site to check it out. Look at the insurance table with Schedule and General Terms under year 2007/2008. The site is restricted to members only.

In this case, do they all know their password ?

btw, if non members can't read the details before they join, how can they make decision on rather to buy insurance or not ? is it neccesary to restrict access of insurance details to members only ?

Mak, the detailed policy is between HKRCSS and Blue Cross, we better not to publish it openly unrestricted without the consent of Blue Cross. For people interested in joining HKRCSS and want to read the details, I am happy to send them a copy. For existing members, if you forgot the password, just send me an email and I will re-sent the password.
