RC Slope Soaring in Hong Kong

Dear master,

I bought a 35mhz Module from Radar Hobby yesterday for my FF8 and FF9 tx. I found it started to warm up (not hot, but a bid warm)after around 9 minutes of operation time. It is normal to behave like this? Since the original crystal comes with the module doesn't fits my existing equipments. I had replaced the crystal to a feigao crystal, will it be the cause for the warming incident?

I try both the TXs (FF8 & FF9) using a 72mhz & 40mhz module (using original futaba crystal), and the temperature doesn't seems to be that high after the same amount of operation time.

In additions, the FF8 seems to have higher temperature comparing to the 9C. NOw I am confused.

Anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks in advance.

You need to check whether your Model is TK or TP, You can see the module number. You can see: XX-TK-FM, or XX-TP-FM, (I Do not remember the exact number because I do not have one module around).

TK give higher power, it generate stronger signal, but it also draw a higher current from battery. This module is usually used in Big 9.

TP give weaker power, the power just meet the illegal limited in Europe and HK (35MHz or 40MHz), so current draw is also weaker. This module is usually used in Small 9, or FF7, FF8.


TK will be warmer than TP because it giver higher power. If you do not pull out the antenna, the module temperature will be even higher because if the electric signal cannot be emit out from the antenna, the power device inside the module will become hot or burn out.

If your module is still hot (warm is normal but not hot) even if you have pull out the antenna, may be your module is a defective, you need to bring it back for replacement.
