Aris has arrived! Wow! It's a wonderful plane and beautifully built. Everything look solid and the construction quality is really high standard. Two weeks from the coming F3F race, so see whether I can put it up in time. Cheers

昨天到偉高買了六隻 3102 servos，預備裝砌我隻Aris。聽聞最近這些 servos 好搶手，買到斷巿，皆因最近各路人馬努力砌機備戰 F3F 賽！都是多得阿堅預留這些 servos 給我，不過價錢就很貴呀，加上我架車泊 |

Finished the V-tail servo linkages. Because of the nosecone, space is very tight and I just managed to get enough servo travel after some degree of sanding. 
The v-tail is nicely fitted.

Fitted a Multiplex plug on the wing - my workmanship is a bit .. ha .. ok 
Made a hole for the flap servo linkage

Maiden it today in Ma On Shan. Straight out without any tuning. Easy to control and pretty fast. It has very forgiving behaviour and definity I will use it for tomorrow F3F contest. 
Close flypass with crow deployed 
Angus also maiden his Aris today

Stanly, I enjoyed looking at your build of the aris, I also built one and lost it on the second flight due to false peak of the battery. I have two more ordered! I am trying to make arrangements to attend your F3F event November 4th thru the 6th along with Dan Field, we both live in California near LA. Making travel arrangements with a large plane box is tough, it is 15?x 15?x 67? The airlines all have different allowable cargo sizes. I will be bringing my NYX and acacia II. If we can over come the cargo problem we hope to be there. Woody |

Thanks Woody for your interest in HK F3F Open as well as this thread regarding the Aris. Sorry to know that you lose such a beautiful racer! Hope that you will fly the Aris again soon. It is certainly my top racer for the time being. I made paper box with foam sheet to protect my gliders for air transport. Mind you that you need to arrange with the airline that you'll have large boxes before arriving in the airport. Usually, with the pressure from your travel agent, the airliner will give you a better weight allowance if you tell them earlier. Good luck and looking forward to see you and Dan in Hong Kong. Stanley, Congratulations on you new personal best and the new Hon Kong record of 36.15. Out of 10 pilots with only 4 left flyable planes at the end of the day? With the majority still smiling it must have been an exceptional event with a lot of personal best. From the pictures I have seen of the slope it is grass with no rocks, what was the cause for so many damaged planes? Woody |

Hi Woody, November is the beginning of the dry season with strong northeast trade wind. This is the nicest season in a year. The temperature is around 23C in day time. We had wind speed of average 45km/hr in the last F3F race in August. Although the landing area is full of grass, the turbulence near the ground proved to be too strong for some pilots. Most of planes got damaged in the nose section when the planes dived in the last second of the landing approach thus hitting the ground hard! We are planning to move the landing zone to an area with less turbulence during the HK Open; however pilots have to walk about 100m for landing. Cheers and looking forward to seeing you Stanley |

Stanley, Charging has become an issue, is there a local source I can buy a battery charging system? I have a triton and would need a converter that will work on Hong Kong electrical outlets. An automobile jump starter will work and is rechargeable. Any suggestions? Woody |

Hi Woody, I have a spare Futaba charger which you can borrow. What sort of charging cable outlet you need for your battery? The Futaba charger has a 9V output plug for the transmitter and a 4.8V plug for the receiver. Regards Stanley |

Stanley, I have the futaba 9ZWC2 transmitter and the planes have the regular male ends are the same as the servo leads to the receiver for charging. The charging of two planes will take a lot of time using this system. I would prefer to figure out how to use my chargers on you country |
