Father day should be a free day for all fathers! You both should come and enjoy a day of freedom. Bring your kids if they wish their fathers to be happy guys on the slope. See you there, Cheers!

By the way, look like we will have southwesterly wind this Sunday, the Fei Ngo Shan site at Jat's Inline Peak may not be suitable as the wind is too westerly. Should we try the Robin's Nest mountain top on the left side of the car parking space? I and Ko Lo Wai did try that spot last time when we have very weak southwesterly wind last year. The track seems very striaght with over 120m long, although the landing may be more difficult as compared to Ma On Shan, but perhaps better still than Fei Ngo Shan.

Another possibility is the Kin Ma Ling, the wind would be perfectly normal to the slope and under hot sun, the lift there may be fantastically good. However, the access road may be very hectic and dangerous now.

Any other idea?

Image

Hi Wing,

Windguru forecast Western to South-western, 6-7 ms in the afternoon. Seems that we still get a chance.

Look like we will have 6 m/s southwesterly wind after 12pm.
http://www.windguru.cz/int/index.php?sc=85573

To decide in early morning at 7:00am may be meaningless as the wind may not pick up at 7am yet.
I would suggest we meet in the car park in the foot hill of Robin's Nest in the morning, say 9:00am, and send one car up to check with the wind before all moving up the mountain top. We can set up the course before 12:00, and when the wind pick up, we can start immediately.

By the way, the flying site in Robin's Nest does have southerly and southwesterly slope, so it should be ok for the contest provided that there is wind.

Since Law Wah is also coming tomorrow, I would suggest that even if the race is cancelled, we would invite all of you to come to have lunch with Law Wah to give all our support to him. He is much happier than before after the operation, so it is the right time we should meet and show our support.

Thanks!

Yes, sure!

I will pick you up first at 8:20am and then we go to Law Wah's place in Ma On Shan to pick him up.
He will go alone with us, so there is plenty of space in my car. I can put his wheelcar in the car boot and all our planes in one side of the passinger seat. It should be ok.

See you tomorrow!

By the way, for those who haven't been to Robin's Nest before, here is the driving information

Drive from Kowloon and HK Island:

Go to Lion Rock tunnel, then go straight pass Shatin and into the Tolo Highway, go all the way north into Fanling Highway to Fan Ling
Image

Turn left and circle to the right to Jockey Club road. The intersection between Fanling Highway and Jockey Club road is a small exit from the left, there are some left exits nearby, don't exit too early or too late. Please check on this map carefully.
Once on the Jockey Club road turn right on a round about (third exit) to Sha Tau Kok road.
Image

Then go straight all the way to the northeast direction for about 3km. Finally, turn left on to Wo Keng Shan Road, the car park is just on the left side 50m after the turn. Good luck!

Discussed with the CDs & helpers, owing to unstable weather condition, squally thunderstorm and a number of pilots will not be available or have to leave early, the contest is CANCELLED.
