各位有意參加 Typhoon race 2008 的朋友: 因臺灣主辦單位宣佈了香港、臺灣、韓國及(其他國家)各最多參與人數為 10 人，除阿麥 ( 2007 冠軍 ) 和阿邦 ( 2007 最速 ) 自動有參賽權外，我們現在有 13 人有參賽意願。 因截止報名日期為 10 月 5 日，所以即使主辦單位可酌情騰出位置給香港(因主辦臺灣有優先權使用剩餘的位置)，也都要看 10 月 5 日的報名情況才可決定，所以我們須作只有 10 人能出賽的準備。 我個人建議把 F3F league 6, 7, 8 中，每人選 2 個最佳的成績用作選拔，請大家發表意見。 |

由於訂機票、訂房需時要早準備，如果要在10月5日之後才訂票就不可能。我建意大會把報名日期提前至8月中，好讓有興趣參賽賽朋友可以及早得到確定。我相信真的可以去參賽的朋友沒有這麼多，C.M.,請你跟李大師聯絡，轉告可否把報名日期提前。 |

我覺得規則已定無必要就唔好要人家改，現在香港話要提早截止兩個月，遲D韓國可能話要改期，一陣日本可能又話要賽多兩日，攪攪下台灣重話返大同山賽 . . . 先例一開，就一個唔就一個就厚此簿彼。 另外你地覺得這15人中那些最後會唔去？如果唔係人數問題其實現在已經報左名訂機票。既要團體報名訂機票住宿，我覺得無人會玩玩下係呢度講左唔算數。 邊個一定唔去得請提早通知以免影響其他人。 邊個唔一定去得亦請通知，請君肯定可成行時自行報名以免影響其他人。 |

Normally, some pilots will not be available to join just before the contest. Therefore, it is likely to have 10 or less pilots to Taiwan. However, we have to fix the travel arrangement as early as possible so as to reduce cost. We can set a deadline, said end July, to confirm the travel logistics. Those confirmed to go shall to pay at the moment. If there are still more than 10, we can use one qualifying race or lucky draw to determine by that time. |

If you check the Welsh Open and Viking Race, they are very early. The reason for setting the deadline so late, such as the case of HK Open, is to try attracting more pilots to come, if there are many pilots showing their interest to come already, then why not set the deadline earlier, and everybody will have a clear picture who can go or not. In fact, if spaces are still available after the deadline, they can still accept pilots by extending the deadline. But those committed must know as earlier as possible. I hope Lee will read this message and re-consider the deadline. |

Hi Stanley, Taiwan is using their F3F league to choose pilots for TR08. The last league is scheduled in September. How can they set the dead line in August? I know they will use the league to choose pilots for the Taiwan Open. What I suggest is to ask them reserve 15 places for the Taiwanese pilots, the rest of 30 places are openned to foriegn pilots with a deadline set as earlier as possible, so that pilots from abroad can make travel arrangements earlier. If there are still unused spaces left after the deadline, they can allocate them to Taiwanese pilots. If all foriegn spaces are filled up in first-come-first-serve basis, then they still have 15 spaces for the local pilots. Of course, if there are less than 15 local pilots take up the challenge, then, the spaces can be again openned for foriegn pilots not yet have a space. That would be a fair and a good logistic arrangement, many international contests do use this kind of approach. Anyway, I hope thing can be sorted out smoothly. Cheers!

Apple兄， 我很同意你在選拔賽手的觀點！ 其實我覺得大會未必需要把參賽人數限定在40名之內。以澎湖的優質賽場和風力，我相信只要把賽事的節奏加快，例如：賽手完成航道飛行後迅速離開賽道，步行往降落區降落，下一個賽手可以立刻起飛，每個選手每次所用的時間就只需2分鐘左右便可，如果有60位選手，那麼每一個合回只需2個小時，早出晚歸，全日應至少可舉辦4個回合，在共3日的賽事可以有10個回合，我相信很多參賽的飛友已經很滿足了！
請問可否跟李明道兄商議把參賽選手名額提高至60位，那就可解決很多問題，有興趣參賽的國內外的飛友都會開心，皆大歡喜嘛！事實上今次比賽是否真的能吸引這麼多飛友還是一個疑問。 我會經寫電郵給李兄，表達我的意見，還希望大會能考慮把截止報名日期提前至8月中，好攘外國飛友有多些時間安排旅程，訂機票等等，但一直都無得到李兄的回復，希望Apple兄能代為轉述。 |

很感謝 Stanley 前輩的支持與認同，在下的考量是認為不見得在參加地方賽事的人士會有興趣參加公開賽，因為比賽的模式雖然相同，但畢竟節奏與感覺甚至是格局是兩回事，只要是有參加過公開賽的人才會了解。 其實在台灣某些人士是對於參與公開賽並不是很熱衷，除了舟車勞苦還得休息請假完全要自掏腰包之外，大部分人可還是會對於已經少買了半架飛機的花費保持懷疑的態度。 因此許多人其實並不知道公開賽都是在玩些什麼，大部分人可能以為跟地方賽事類似吧，因此抱著偶而玩玩就好不必太熱衷。其實我也認為舉辦國際公開賽也不需要有太大壓力，因為任何事晴總是有了壓力就會變了味，台灣這方便我是認為缺少了更多積極籌備參與的人士，現在似乎都把工作都壓在李兄身上，還有許多該準備的該計畫的我們至今也還沒有開會進行研討，因此我也不知道到底準備到什麼程度。 李兄那邊我會請他多注意與接受意見，畢竟名額實在是太少了，國際公開賽當然是人數越多越好辦事，精彩度也會跟著增加，希望李兄可以盡快整理出程序儘早進行開會並且分配工作分頭進行，我是不希望把過多的決策都交給李兄，畢竟一個人的思考總是可能會有欠缺或是不周密的。 |

There are around 3 months from Taiwan Open and it is time to confirm air tickets and hotel, as well as the most important annual leaves application. Since we still have 3 pilots exceeding quota, I would suggest a lucky draw in the next league race, i.e. 10 Aug 2008. The ten pilots selected from lucky draw shall pay their air tickets to Donny by 15 Aug 2008 or otherwise other pilots shall fill up their position. Any pilot cannot join next league race may select a representative from those attending on 10 Aug 2008. In case the organiser does release more position for HK in Sep or Oct, we can have further enrollment by that time. Hope this can be a quick solution. Any comment? |
