| Post subject: | 2007-2008 F3F Korea League |
2007-2008 F3F Korea League started last Sunday in a rainy weather. It`s going to be held one game per a month, during 5 months from December 2007 to April 2008 because wind blows only this period. Many expensive composite planes had to be exposed to rain all day long. Finally we had to finished the first game with only 2 rounds due to the rain. Wind speed was 2-3m/s as average. I hope you enjoy some of pics from the game. In first place: Lee, Seung Kuk In second place: Jang, Ki Seong In third place: Lee, Jae Jin Best speed: Jang, Ki Seong reported by Young-Seok Shin, SouthKorea These pics were taken by Kim, Jin Kab http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=781343 |

Congratulation to both Lee and Dr. Lee! Really glad to see many Korean pilot friends too! Wish the Korea league runs smoothly and everyone of you be happy on the slope, cheers! It's a pity to know that the league is only for five months. It seems that summer time would be warmer and be more comfortable than the chilling cold of Korea mountain in winter. Is it true that the wind during summer is virtually zero, or because of the lacking of suitable slopes for opposite wind directions? |

Some local slope clubs around the nation have their own flying site, but they`re not suitable for F3F contest, just for free flying. Mt.Hwang-geum is the best one in Korea. You`re right! In summer season, we used to go to Mt.Jang-bok is located in Jin-Hae city. You can remember you have flown there while 2007 Korea Open. |

Stanley: They have crystal trophies in each league !! Comparing to us, we are really poor, as we don't even have a piece of paper in last few matches !! (Especially when I won) http://static.rcgroups.com/forums/attachments/1/7/9/9/5/7/a1601938-139-s7300126_macalwind.jpg |

Do we have any funding from the Club? |

Quote: Do we have any funding from the Club?
From time to time, I overheard that the club spent a lot of resourse on F3F. But it is not the truth. When comparing with other activities, such as EPP spot landing, combat and duration flight, we spent very little. Even the HK Open 207 was orginised on behalf of the club, our fellows have to contribute to the deficit !! Do we need to think again on this aspect ?? |

Even the HK Open 207 was orginised on behalf of the club, our fellows have to contribute to the deficit !! Do we need to think again on this aspect ?? That's is an unfair criticism! In Hong Kong F3F Open, we have secured HK$5,000 cash sponsorship for the event plus over 15 models and prizes. The resource we get is much more than all other events (combat, DLG,..) combined! When the club organizes event, it will base on a balanced budget, so we see all types of events the same. For example, last week slope combat, we made a set of trophies for $450, the contest fee derived is $460. If you want to have beautiful trophies for F3F, then pay a higher contest fee, will you agree on that? |

Let me give a rough calculation: The crystal trophies as such will cost at least HK$1,500 to make. If we have 15 pilots joining the F3F contest, each pilot needs to pay $100 contest fee, will you happy with that? Now we should have collected $20 for each race, and with probably 9 races and an average of 12 participants, we should be able to collect around $2,000 for a good set of trophies for the league result presentation during AGM. I think that will be more meaningful than paying a high contest fee for each race. |

Quote: In Hong Kong F3F Open, we have secured HK$5,000 cash sponsorship for the event plus over 15 models and prizes. The resource we get is much more than all other events (combat, DLG,..) combined! What I heard was not how much we secured, but how much we'd spent on F3F events. Quote: base on a balanced budget HK$ 450 Vs 460, it was not a balance budget. We have surplus this time. Where did the 10 dollar end up? Went to the club's acount. However, please bear in mind that we are not a profitable association. Hence, we could not ensure each event would have surplus. Sometimes it happens, but sometimes it won't. Therefore, if we alow surplus to be credited into the club's acount, we shall also allow the deficit to be settled by the club's acount. Quote: If you want to have beautiful trophies for F3F, then pay a higher contest fee, will you agree on that?
Don't manipulate my words. I was not saying that I could get the trophy. In fact, during the preparatory meeting, I foreseen there might have deficit, and asked whether we shall increase the contest fee as well as the charge of the banquet. It was just a sensible suggestion. But the decision was not the same. Lastly, I want to make it clear that I had not paid extra money for the deficit, but simply wish to bring up the issue for discusion. The money matter for the HK Open 207 should not further discuss openly here. Please don't reply, unless for the league related subject. bye |

Actually the trophies were made by the contribution from Mr.Han(Han,Seong Ho). He prepared them on his own. I think some of you guys know him well. He went together with his daughter & her friend last Hong Kong F3F Open 2007. He is very active and energetic. He did many things for Team Albatross. P.S: Stanley, I made and submitted new resteration form and waiting for the administrator`s approval. --------------------------------------------- Username: Young-Seok Shin Password: ******* Your account is currently inactive, the administrator of the board will need to activate it before you can log in. Thanks Ah Kin A laminated A5 size certificate printed from color printer be great for the winners at each competition. (Must be ready to present by the competition, no retrospective! Or the winners will feel being ignored! |

Thanks. I am sorry also that our fellow pilots have hijacked your thread here. Dear Hong Kong pilots, can we discuss the unresolved, if any, issue regarding the funding of the trophies in a new thread please? |

Stanley, I don`t care, but I`m sorry for I left something that would make trouble. Actually I don`t think we need trohpy or something for award. We love flying together. The reason of holding a F3F league is just for keeping our friendship. Flying together is better than doing it alone. Right? P.S: Finally, I can write here with my real name. Thanks Stanley. |

Hi guys! Last Sunday the 2nd round was held at Mt.Hwang-geum in Korea. All 18 guys participated in the game at sub-zero temperatures because the mountain was covered with snow. Wind was the worst we`ve ever had so we could finished only two round and that`s all. P.S: I`m not sure if you can see the pics or not. I hope it work well. Once it work, I will post more pics. |

Hi Young-Seok, Really glad to see that the size of your team F3F flyers is growing larger and larger. It would be quite an amazing experience for us to fly F3F in your slope under sub-zero temperature. The solid ice together with the scattered rocks in this slope would be very challenging for landing the big F3F moldies without damage. I still remember I got two small holes in the my Viking as a result of landing in Mt.Hwang-geum last April. Cheers and congratulation to the winners. |
