The Taiwan team and Korean teams arrived this morning. Together with the Australian team whom arrived one day earlier, we went up to Robin's Nest north slope. The wind speed was wonderful over 50 km per hour, but the turbulance was also amazing. A few damages so far. Hope you guys manage to repair them tonight. Ah Kin almost lost his RaceM after radio failure. The uncontrolled plane spot landed on the road almost 1 km behind the slope - really accurate landing and only minor damage on wing tip, amazing! Here are some photos taken this afternoon.
The slope is straight with plenty of glass, but lot of turbulance for strong northerly wind.

Lift are wonderful but too gusty |

First day contest completed with three rounds. The wind was northerly but marginal today with wind speed variable between 2m/s to 6m/s. Again we flew at Robin's Nest north slope. Mak took the lead with two 1000s and the best speed so far. Next come with 小黑 from Taiwan. 阿生 come at the third and I just 3 marks behind. Here is the day one score! http://www.hkrcss.org/HKF3F/hkf3fopen_day1.xls Some photos here

Day two: the wind shifted to eastward a bit, so we went up to High Junk Peak. The wind speed was good in the morning and graduately died down in the afternoon. After starting round three for about 7 pilots, the wind dropped significantly, so the race for the day was called off and the third round was discard, so only two rounds were completed. Taiwan 小黑 performed consistantly well and take the lead. Mak dropped to the second place. Kin moved up to third and Stanley remained in the 4th position. Here is the score sheet: http://www.hkrcss.org/HKF3F/hkf3fopen_day2.xls

What is this?
The "Data center".
Ah Wai always has the confidence to launch the plane by himself:
Camera array
Ah Pong is the current best speed holder:
Wind became very weak. The photo shows Stanley's Viking. Despite the weak air, Stanley managed to maintain the speed and got an amazing 65 sec. This round was finally called off, though.
Ah Wai showed off his eagle eye sight and thermal flying skill by flying his New Sting far far away to hunt for every tiny bit of lift. Just jaw dropping, everybody

Today we had an interesting contest up to the mountain top of Lobster Bay. This is a new site which has never held a F3F contest before. To hike up to the site was proved to be quite demanding for 60+ pilots and helpers. After clearing up the bush which is tall and dense, we were able to start the contest at about 11:40am. Anyway, three rounds were finally completed. Congratulation to the winners of the HK Open 2007! Champion: Mak Kai Yeung (HK) 1st runner-up: Cheung Wan Kin (HK) 2nd runner-up: Lin Kuo Ping (Taiwan) Best Time: Choi Wing Pong (HK) Best Team: AKFF Here is the score sheet: http://www.hkrcss.org/HKF3F/hkf3fopen.xls
