As far as I know, both JR and Futaba TX needs to use a & channels receiver to finish the setup as Ch.7 must be used to control left aileron. However, as I have several 6 channles RX at home (some JR and some Futaba), wondering if I can do anything to achieve the same target setup?

Many thanks!

Is there any channel assign function for JR or Futaba TX so that I could use CH.3 in replacement? :roll:

If you are talking about full house setup that is the futaba's channels 1567, it will be quite difficult. Without some skilfull electronic and soldering working, it is not easy. Check the old forum here for a scheme that Stanley posted on how to modify a 4 channel receiver to get out channel output.
However, it is strongly not recomended if it is used in costly F3F ship where speed and high respect of public security are demanded.

Just for your reference, only at PPM/FM mode, (PCM or SPCM can't communicate )
Matching JR to Futaba:
JR Thro == Fut Ail 1
Aile = Elevator 2
Elev == Thro 3
Rudd == Rud 4
gear == channel 5 or 6
Aux 1 == channel 7

Good luck.

Thanks C Hing,

Then I just buy new receiver la, it is too risky to do receiver modification. :o

Hi Steven,

You may try this:

(For JR, but I think it also works for Futaba)

1, JR uses ch 2-7 in 6 servos sailplane. Ch 1 is reserved for air-brake.

2, First set the "travel adjust" of Ch 1 to 0%. This will disable the input of Ch1.

3, Then use a free programmable mixer to mix 100% of Ch 7 to Ch 1.

The draw back of this method is that the butterfly will no longer be available.

Hi Steven

I guess it also depends on what Tx you are using. If you are using JR PCM 9X or 9X II (or equilvant), then 6 ch Rx will be sufficient for a full house F3F ship :o

On JR Tx, if select "Sailplane" mode, only Ch 1 - 6 will be needed and mapped as follows :

THRO = left aileron
AILE = right aileron
ELEV = Elevator or left v-tail
RUDD = Rudder or right v-tail
GEAR = right flap
AUX1 = left flap

Although I use 7 Ch Rx in my F3F ships but in fact Ch 7 is just using for plugging beep beep & voltage detector etc and all six servos are attached as above (Ch 1 - 6).

Wish helpful :o

It is possible for Futaba Transmitter 8 and 9 to setup a 6-channel receiver for 4-wing-servo ship. Firstly, setup the plane as normal sailplane, i.e. Ch1-ali1, 2-ele, 4-rud, 5-flp1, 6flp2. The trick is to connect ali2 to Ch3 and create a programmable mixing Ch3 (Air Brake) to Ch3 with -100% movement. The mixing is to inhibit the throttle stick from controlling Ch3. Then create a programmable mix Ch1-to-Ch3 to synchronize the left and right aileron. All other function, such as ele-to-flap, butterfly, etc shall make use of programmable mixing. There are sufficient programmable mixing even in Futaba old 8-Ch transmitter.

Thanks all C Hing,

Those information are very helpful. As i have both 9C Super & JR 9XII, I think i will stick with my JR this time cos I can use the 6 Channels RX. M :P ILLION THANKS!
