http://www.hkrcss.org/MOM_3m_callC.html

Stanley,

Please clarify the race is a '3 meters' race, or 'Conventional Unlimited Class' as stated in the rule (i.e. min 72 insh wing span).

I have a 2 meters race (80 inches), is it qualify ?

(please note, STING or many racers are only 2.8 meters !!)

:?: :?:

I'll not call a 2M racer a "大機" :!: :x

How about 2.6M to 3.2M  :?:

According to the race rules for open class, wing span is at least 72" or 1.828 meter.
So a 2m plane is allowed, but it must either be moldy or wood construction, no foamy allowed.
If you use 2m, and others use 3m, you only have disadvantage yourself. Make up your mind to join now!

Cheers!

I remember we have talked about the model size for "3m class" in the last committee meeting. We agreed that "3m class models" must be >2.5m wing span.

Conventional Unlimited Class

Hi Stanley,

Pardon me if my questions below are obvious nonsense.

What is the objective to set up MOM rules ??

Did you think I am of unsound mind that could not understand the stipulated rules in the official HKRCSS Web page ??

What I asked yesterday was to remind you our agreed rules.

For the time being (1930 hrs on 2010-04-20), the rules on the HKRCSS Web site is still 'Conventional Unlimited Class'. Albeit you could amend the rules later as you have the access right, but changing the rules should have some sort of discussions and shall be announced by the Contest Director (i.e. LEE Man).

I do not accept sort of statments like :

Sting,Miraj
or

This would hamper the reputation of our association as a well organized club

So what is the interpretation on '大機組'? Does it stick to the club's MoM rule Section 3.5 Conventional Unlimited Class that the glider must have a minimum wing span 72 inches for 大機組 OR follow 大哥們的自由'釋', 3Metre 就得, 2.8m 又可以, 但 2M 就... Any conclusion?

3m class or open-class? I am open mind to this.

As far as I can remember, we did discuss this in HKRCSS committee meeting before and seemed that many members suggested to limit the model to 3m only for the fear of racing with cheap 2m models, so finally we all agreed in the committee meeting to hold a 3m class. 3m is an average term, what we really came in mind in the meeting is 3m F3F models which we normally use for F3F contest. Obviously, Sting, SpiderX and Miraj are on the list.

If we stick with this decision, then it is a 3m class. I am just too busy to be able to put up the rules for this class, but as far as I can think of the rules are similar to open-class, only it is not limited by 72" but, say, 2.8m to allow Sting, SpiderX, Miraj into this class, that this! No point to argue, join or not join is up to you guys!

If you guys prefer to have an open-class after this MoM, we may be able to schedule one as it is plenty of time up on the slope. But as some of you mentioned that they don't want to race with cheap smaller models because they want a pair-to-pair competition on an equal footing. The number of participants in this open-class may be small

I am not arguing with you ! It was a frank discussion previously as being a committe member. I tried to discuss the way to hold an event on behalf of the association.

The term you used, i.e. JOIN OR NOT JOIN IS UP TO YOU GUYS, is very rough, and is not in accordance with the constitution of the club. (to promote RC activities).

OK, back to the issue, you might say my 2 meters racer is a CHEAP one, but how about a pilot wishes to use his 3.4M Supra or 4M Salto ? (Both are expensive) Does it allowed in your interpretation of 3M class ?

Think deeply before you answer !

Anyway, I won't join this event due to the dictatorship, and treat my dicision as a boycott !

I have no time to argue with you guys. I am not dictating this as you said. I am open to this. You just asked me (why you guy have problem and always ask me? I am not the only one who can make decision!!), so I answered you. Why you asked me in the first place? The decision is by the committee not me. The rule is not set by me.
If you have any comment on the rules, then why not come and join the committee and propose any new rules you think more completed and rigorous.

Join or not join, boycot or not boycot, it is still up to you, you are all individual, we should respect all individual decision as well as idea.

Cheers!

Then I told you what the decision had been made in the committee. I am not the decision maker!

Hi Kenneth,

It is a matter of principle, as well as a matter relating to the reputation of the association.

Whether I join or not, whether I win or lose, is another issue.

Think about the following:

You are going to buy a flat in advanceed selling term (Lau Fa), the sales booklet says the flat is 1000 square feet.

When you take over the flat upon its completion, you find the flat only have 910 square feet. Then the developer says:

較細的useable area 都應該可以,總之900 square feet 以上就得啦!

What do you think ?? :?: :?:
