I used a Precious in Round 6 to get 1000 points on Distance task. It was just by luck while the 2 Germans might have been influenced by our choice to run over the lake at east side. They betted for another side. The air condition was light. Following Gordon's (a very nice guy from the USA Team) advice, HK launched first from the group. The launch was not that high as we were the team of ‘terrible launch’. Anyway, we were improving over the WC. I steered to left and headed toward the lake. On entering the course, I was still a bit nervous after switching through launching to distance stage within 3 seconds. It was just about 70 to 80m at height. Gordon had given me good advices to adjust my flying course, speed, altitude and turning position at Base B and I had flied nearly 4 legs with some lost at height before some other teams called for launching. They might have read the 'poor'air condition at east from my flying and tried to explore the west side. Then I got very little float at Base A on each turn and kept for the remaining time. To gain more laps, Gordon suggested me to turn some height into speed on each leg. Lap times improved and I felt my plane nearly catching the lamp poles at the last 3rd leg before I flied the plane over the lamp poles and power lines to the west side to complete 2 more legs before end of my 4 min flying time and for landing. I landed far away, near Base B. 17 laps, not bad to me. I didn’t know what’s the final results of my group at that moment as others had not completed their flying. On picking the Precious back, Gordon gave me a cheerful congratulation and Kyle Paulson showed me a big thumb for good job done. What a surprise to get 1000 points in that group from the world strong teams! Thanks Gordon and my teammates. I also have to thank Steve (another nice guy from Australia Team) for a quick fix and setting on my planes to enable me smooth flies throughout the WC. Really, there are so many 'what is’to learn.

The followings movies (by Glauco of Team USA) show how "Distance" and "Speed" were executed during the contest.

The french's is anice and strong one. The European and Aussie , as well as Jap teams always have some elegant ones.

Ours is not bad. Almost every team came and watched ours. They comments were: Good idea, my reply was: Thanks, but it needs improvement and reinforcement.... Find it out from the photos :)
